Suilven simply has to be one of the most beautifuul, mysterious, ancient, intreguing and stunning hills I have ever seen. The rocks from which it is formed are some of the oldest on the planet and you cannot escape the feeling you are amongst the old and the wise as you wander around. I say it many times, but Assynt is a special place. This image required four visits to Assynt to find the weather conditions I wanted, though it was worth every one of them when I finally got the result. Shooting from Stac Pollaidh, the long lens and the slight haze give the image a smokey, almost oil painting feel - the glassy flatness of Loch Sionascaig a stark contrast to the surrounding topography. Sold as a limited edition of 195 in a choice of sizes.
